‌Steel cutting ceremony of 13000 DWT Stainless Steel Chemical Tanker

On 21 Nov. 2025, Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (ROC) held a grand steel cutting ceremony for the 13 000 DWT duplex stainless steel chemical tanker, built for John T. Essberger.

These vessels are designed by FKAB and classed by DNV, the vessel will be constructed at ROC’s indoor slipway for German ship owner John T. Essberger.
The FKAB T75 design is an ice class 1A duplex stainless steel chemical tanker with 18 independent cargo tanks.
It is developed with excellent hull form, the patented F-bow and innovative solutions onboard to reach most efficient energy consumption at the given main particulars. Main propulsion by one slow speed 2-stroke engine driving a single controllable pitch propeller through reduction gear box with a shaft generator for PTO/PTH.
To further meet Essberger’s green initiative, a number of new technologies have been implemented into the design, including emissions free cargo discharge capability by shore power, energy saving solutions for HVACs and cooling systems, methanol fuel and wind assisted propulsion ready, etc.
