Sirius Shipping orders 7999 DWT Oil & Chemical Tankers

Sirius Shipping have ordered 4 Newbuildings at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, based on FKAB design.

This Evolution 8k – Hybrid series of Oil & Chemical tankers, designed by FKAB in close collaboration with Sirius, are of 9700 m3 / 7999 DWT and is a further developed and upgraded version of the tankers Saturnus & Mercurius.
The hull, including the patented F-bow, is a hull form optimised for the vessels size & operational profile evaluating also different draughts and sea states.
These lines have, during the years of operation Saturnus & Mercurius have been in service, proven to be very efficient.

These vessels have 11 Marineline coated cargo tanks with 11 segregations, built to Ice Class 1A & equipped with a 4-stroke engine, Shore power system of 6,6 kV/1000 kW and a Peak shaving/UPS battery pack of 420 kWh.
