Another FKAB Tailor Designed Tanker Launched!

We are pleased to inform that “LETTIE PG” has been successful launched at CMJL Ding Heng shipyard last week.

LETTIE is first ship of 3+1 series of 10600dwt coated oil product & chemical tankers, which is another FKAB new tanker design tailor made for PG Tanker’s special trading requirements.

With FKAB patent F-Bow, extensive CFD optimization for wave resistance and flow around the hull, and with the integrated design between twisted leading edge rudder, propeller and hull, the cavitation and hull pressure phenomena as well as the speed performance of this new design have been optimized to a very good level at the given main dimension restrictions.
Better water flow around the hull and low cavitation/pressure also ensure less under water noise emission.

To further meet client’s green initiative, a number of new technologies have been implemented into the design, including methanol fuel ready, peak-shaving power battery, with solar powered charging, emissions free discharge capability utilising cold Ironing shore supply.

Mr. Groves has often mentioned the good cooperation between PG Tankers, CMJL and FKAB during the design process which has created the great trust and friendship that has been established between the project teams from all parties.
