FKAB Parking Lot!

We are glad to present that launching of two different types of vessels, based on FKAB design, have been launched on December 10.

This time it was the 12 000 DWT Stainless Steel tanker for the Chineese owner Ningshen Shipping (Light blue color vessel in front of picture being towed in place by tug boat) designed by FKAB Shanghai office and also vessel number 8 in the series of 16 300 DWT tankers for the owner Furetank Rederi AB (Darker blue color further back in the picture) designed by FKAB Sweden together with FKAB Shanghai.
The Furetank vessel is named Fure Viten and laying next to her sister Fure Vinga.
The vessels are built at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Yangzhou) Dingheng Co. Ltd.

12 000 DWT Stainless Steel tanker is developed by FKAB Marine Design and will be the largest stainless steel tanker in the domestic chemical fleet.

The main dimensions and arrangements are carefully designed for efficient trading in the coastal seas and rivers.

Same as other FKAB tanker designs, this 12000DWT chemical tanker also have the proven FKAB F-Bow hull form to ensure good performance in both calm and harsh sea conditions.

In additional to a series of sophisticated oil & chemical tankers jointly designed by FKAB design team in Sweden and Shanghai for European market, the FKAB Shanghai team have successfully secured a number of small size tanker design orders from Chinese domestic market over the past 3 years, ranging 3500t, 3700t, 4000t, 5500t, 9700t, 12000t and 13500t.

16,300 DWT/18,000 DWT tanker is an FKAB design with ice class 1A.
Fure Vinga is the next one to be delivered followed by Fure Viten later this spring.
These are vessels number 7 & 8 in a series of very environmental friendly tankers, equipped with batteries and dual fuel engines for LNG operation.

They carry 16,300 DWT on design draught & 18,000 DWT on scantling draught.

This vessel concept is named FKAB T24C1 and was developed by FKAB together with the owner Furetank.
Through our FKAB offices in Sweden & China, we also delivered Basic Design & Detail Design to the shipyard.
