Essberger have signed two optional 13 000 DWT vessels at Rainbow Shipyard

John T Essberger have ordered two optional vessel to add to the first two Chemical Tankers ordered in September, based on FKAB design.

These vessels are 13 000 DWT chemical tankers and they are two out of the four options agreed on when signinmg the contarct with Rainbow Shipyard in Nantong, China, in September.
The vessels will have stainless steel tanks and bulit with Ice class 1A

Delivery of the first vessel is scheduled for April 2027.

Following the signing of two 13,000 DWT stainless steel chemical tankers last year, recently, Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd successfully held a contract signing ceremony in Shanghai for the subsequent two optional vessels belonging to companies under the DAL/Essberger Group. This signing further strengthened the comprehensive cooperation between the two parties in the field of stainless-steel chemical tankers. The managing director Johan Isaksen and Ricardo Alvarez, Safa from Link Marine, Rainbow Group President Mr. Martin Wu, Rainbow Offshore General Manager Shao Xiwu, Executive Vice General Manager Fang Ruyi, and Vice General Manager Ren Wei attend the signing ceremony.
The vessels are designed by the Swedish design company FKAB and the classification society is DNV. The overall length of the vessel is 132 meters, the moulded breadth is 21.8 meters, the moulded depth is 11.4 meters, the design draft is 8.5 meters, and 13,000DWT at scantling draft. The service speed is 12.5 knots. These ships have the notation of Ice Class 1A, meet Tier III emission requirement, and are designed to be Methanol Ready. These vessels will be built in the indoor slipway which will extremely contribute to the progress and quality control.
