About T28

About FKAB T28 project

The FKAB T28 is a state-of-the-art Tier II oil and chemical tanker designed for optimal fuel efficiency and high cargo capacity. Engineered for SECA area operations, this vessel supports up to 1.54 ton/m³ density and can handle six grades of cargo simultaneously. With a robust hull form built for harsh weather and European waters, the T28 sets a new standard for efficiency, reliability, and sustainability in maritime shipping.

  • Client name: Ektank T28
  • Industry: Oil and Chemical Shipping
  • Purpose: Safe and efficient transportation of chemicals and oil products in challenging European conditions.

WHAT WE DID

Delivering innovation and efficiency

For the FKAB T28, FKAB Marine Design provided:

Engineered a robust hull form to ensure excellent performance in harsh weather conditions and SECA area operations.

Designed the vessel with 12 cargo tanks, 2 slop tanks, and a system capable of handling six grades of cargo simultaneously, maximizing operational flexibility.

Integrated a slow-speed, two-stroke engine with a controllable pitch propeller and shaft generator to achieve exceptional fuel efficiency.

Developed the vessel to meet Finnish/Swedish ICE 1A classification standards, enabling reliable operations in icy waters.
